Arch is a pretty nice lightweight distro. I've been using it with a
serial console as a fileserver/slimserver for over a year. If you just
install the base system, it has a very small memory footprint. The guys
at Arch subscribe to the "keep it simple, stupid" philosophy, so while
you may not have the ultimate desktop os, you do get a solid platform
to build a server on. The package system works very well, and packages
are kept very current.

Just another opinion to confuse the marketplace. ;-)
