Arch is a pretty nice lightweight distro. I've been using it with a serial console as a fileserver/slimserver for over a year. If you just install the base system, it has a very small memory footprint. The guys at Arch subscribe to the "keep it simple, stupid" philosophy, so while you may not have the ultimate desktop os, you do get a solid platform to build a server on. The package system works very well, and packages are kept very current.
Just another opinion to confuse the marketplace. ;-) John -- 2eleven ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2eleven's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4685 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32919 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
