VMware is just another server daemon. But to actually access the virtual  
machines you need a client. They are available for both Windows and Linux.  
They can be run from any client machine and allow you to configure the  
VMs, see the "boot screens" etc. There's also a web interface, but it  
doesn't allow you to see the machine running, it's for configuration only.
