It is a Ripserver, which should have enough power (not sure of the spec). I'm not even sure how to monitor the cpu usage under Linux (other than repeated "ps" commands). There is nothing else running on the box and it is not doing any scans that I am aware of. There is nothing else on the network either and it is all wired so should be able to cope. How do I run a network test? thanks.
