Ok, so, after many hours of research, trial-and-error, whatever, I
finally got SqueezeCenter to play through my Amarok player . . .
however,
I still cannot get the Softsqueeze player to work... (v. 3.7) although
the GUI opens I only get the message
Please wait.
Connecting to Slim Server . . .
But there is never a connection. This is even though the SqueezeCenter
software recognizes a SlimSqueeze player is connected . . .
I'm guessing it has to do with the configuration of the
softsqueeze.jnlp file, to wit, these lines:

for which I have tried numerous links, none of which seem to be
correct.
Later, I use:

and I have used the "hostname" of the computer, and various settings,
again none of which seem to work.
I feel as if I am just a step or two away from getting the SoftSqueeze
software to work but I can't quite work it out.
Answers/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
