Thanks for the hint, but all there is in the log is a very long sequence of: 'Squeezeboxserver Server died. Restarting.'
The only other entries are 'squeezeboxserver_safe started.' and 'squeezeboxserver_safe stopped.' I am going to try (as suggested) over on the hardwar forum and see if the SheevaPlug guys have any ideas.
