It should be possible for the code to detect something different between
the two boards and modify it's behavior appropriately. For example the
wand carrier has a pull up resistor on the second SD card pins, mine
does not, I could pull those pins down. The initialization code could
check this and load a different driver depending on which it saw. 

Whether this will actually be done, who knows, but I think it is at
least possible.
