Hi Chris. Thanks for your report of another I2S DAC working with piCorePlayer. Could you please show us what your exact start string is for Squeezelite. I mean what -a and -o option did you choose. As you have noticed I have loaded the HiFiberry modules at start up. If you want to remove it, then you will need to edit the /opt/bootlocal.sh file. In later versions I will probably only load the module if it is needed, especially when/if more I2s DAC's get supported. But Hifiberry is the only I2S-DAC that I have access to, and therefore the only one supported (It was a gift from Daniel from Crazy-Audio). As far as I understand I2S DAC's are not able to report back to the system whether they are present or not (so this is different from the USB-DAC's), so therefore aplay will see it if the module is loaded no matter if anything is connected via I2S or not.
