I'll repeat what I just wrote in response to some related posting:
forget about MySQL and LMS unless you have very good reason to continue
using MySQL. SQLite should be good enough.

Starting Logitech Media Server.-
Make sure you check server.log in /var/log/squeezebox or similar.
The _NOTE_ mentioned getting a file called 'buildme.sh' from github,
this was fetched & run with the following result..
-bash-4.2# ./buildme.sh
./buildme.sh: line 5: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
./buildme.sh: line 5: `<!DOCTYPE html>'-
Something went wrong when you downloaded those files: what is supposed
to be a shell script seems to be some HTML file. Get _all_ of
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/7.8/CPAN (or
replace 7.8 with your version), then try again.
