When playing (44k1/16) audio using Pi HDMI port, via HDMI to SPDIF converter, of known HDCD material to a HDCD capable DAC, it failed to be recognised by the DAC as HDCD. Which would suggest that the LSB is being "altered". As the actual workings of the audio path are hidden behind "closed source" VideoCore, rather than bare metal access to hardware via Open Source code, once you get past the ALSA "mailbox" interface..... I did have a conversation, (over a year ago now), where I was told, if you use the RPC client interface, (OpenMAX, I think), to access the hardware, rather than ALSA driver, (which I believe they use for their media player, whose name I forget, and XBMC distribution, in preference to the ALSA driver), it works.... Never tried it myself.
If people are happy with what they are using, and how it is working, that's fine by me. I'm happy with what I am doing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JackOfAll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3069 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
