Well at least you used to the choice of on-board spidf, and not everyone
has a DAC with USB input. So, are you using this headless? Or did you
get vga/hdmi working, rather than being stuck with connecting over a
serial console. That's what folk on the Arch Arm forum seem to be
complaining about. 

I'm not surprised you say it sounds better than your RPI if you are
using a USB DAC, as the USB limitations of the RPI USB implementation is
well known.
