I could implement crossovers with FIRs instead of IIRs. I'm currently running squeezelite into ecasound and use LADSPA and IIRs. All this works already well with squeezelite and pipe-out. Also brutefir could work this way. No real need for plugins. Until now I stayed aways from brutefir. The question will be how much taps and filters at which samplerate I can run before the machine runs out of steam. And then there's the problem with the samplerates. No automatic filter switching per samplerate. Would your plugin support that? BTW. I'm not looking for the lowest CPU load. I'm looking for the most efficient setup.
