I'm thinking that the meters may be correct. On my pCP B+ with 1.18 and HiFiBerry DAC+ (and all other SBs I've owned), I have always left digital volume at 100%; however, on my pCP Pi2 with 1.21g and HiFiBerry DAC+ (and touchscreen/Jivelite), I have to turn digital volume down to about 80-85% otherwise certain tracks have bad crackle. A side-by-side test of the two players clearly shows 100% volume to be louder on the 1.21g player than the 1.18 player--apparently too loud. Not sure if this can be adjusted.
