On the question of Samba

I don't need it as I am using a networked drive for storage but I can
understand why people feel they need it.
If for example you are using a PC or Mac to rip CDs the easiest method
of adding the resultant files to LMS is to point the ripping software to
a mapped drive via SMB
The same applies to mp3tag and the like.

Using SCP or WinSCP doesn't provide the same flexibility and nor will
FTP. If you were to find a tagging error in an album are you really
going to copy the file(s) back to a PC, fix them and then put them back
again.

I know LMS on PCP is relatively new but the lack of a Samba share access
is a serious omission in comparison to m2p. That said everything else
about PCP is better IMHO.

As I said it doesn't matter to me so just my 2p.
