I just installed the picoreplayer 1.2 applet from the repo successfully. So it's working okay. You can download and install it manually. http://picoreplayer.sourceforge.net/repo/piCorePlayer-1.2.zip Note, if you're using the current jivelite.tcz image, it includes a newer picoreplayer menu in the image. Installing the older one from the repo works but has less features.
