It's a great disc spinner. It's a better network player than the 93,
but it's still imperfect. It's fussy about what kind of soundtracks it
will play from an MKV file, for one thing. And while it will play most
of the MKVs I've created from my obsolete HD-DVDs without trouble, it's
horrible at playing multichannel FLAC or DSD over the network. I have
no idea why, since the video files would be even bigger bandwidth/data
hogs. Attempting to play the files via directly attached storage is
much better, but the "gapless" playback often still creates audible
clicks at track boundaries. But, like I always say, gapless playback
has only been around since 1948, so I guess we have to give them
time...

The one test I did plugging a Pi into the Oppo's HDMI input and playing
back multichannel FLAC went well (i.e., no dropouts), though I'll need
to spend more time doing that before I can be sure it's OK. 96kHz 5.1
files play as 48kHz, but the same thing happens when I plug the Pi
directly into my receiver and skip the Oppo.
