yeah thanks, Paul! I didn't know that and it seems very helpful for known wifi networks.
I am running picoreplayer on a portable system and quite often I do not know the wifi credentials before I leave my home. The problem is that I normally do not have a keyboard with me to configure the wpa_supplicant.conf. Since my device has a display I thought it could be an idea to use the on-screen-keyboard in jivelite to enter the wifi credentials. For headless systems I have found this repository on GitHub and I have tested it on a normal rasbian image: https://github.com/sabhiram/raspberry-wifi-conf In this case my pi 3 starts automatically in access point mode, when no networks are found. Then I can connect with my smartphone directly to the pi. After entering my wifi credentials the pi reboots and connects to the new wifi network. Entering the wifi credentials keyboardless via displa/jivelite or smartphone would be place number one on my picoreplayer feature christmas wishlist :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Snyder's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63639 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103330 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
