Terry,

That is very interesting.  I have experienced almost the exact
opposite.  When my CD drive is on the 'standard' or slow 5mb
SCSI bus and my HD on the fast 10mb bus the OS X Install CD will
boot but does not see any of the HDs on the fast SCSI bus. 
WEIRD!
