Terry,

I guess I'm too sloppy in my trouble-shooting!

I did try again last Friday and discovered that I can get the PCI card
active (it does seem to appear all the time now, but it didn't before) by
deactivating the built-in ethernet with the check-box. But my goal is to
use both -- one for DSL, the other for my LAN. Probably I am still
overlooking something obvious. (Since I also have the Asant card, I
could try using two cards! Sounds more likely to be trouble-prone to me,
but . . . ) I'll try to read a few more bits of documentation.
(Unfortuately Mac OS Help seems to want me to have an AirPort before
doing local routing, so I've got to discover how to configure the IP
addresses, etc., unless someone wants to jump in with fool-proof
instructions!)

Thanks for your continuing interest in my saga-with-interruptions!
