I have a Compaq pull Seagate Medalist 8420 (Model #ST38430A) The mac will recognize it fine, but it is very flaky, and will not take a driver. If it corrupts, you must install it into a PC, reformat and reinstall the driver, then you can put it back into a mac, it will mount, but when you go to format it, it will corrupt the driver again.
They aren't worth your time. Sell it to a PC using friend of yours and use the money to buy an IBM or WesternDigital drive. (I'm a big fan of IBM drives, WD drives seem to be a lesser evil) Anyone else have suggestions for a good HD? -Robyn On Saturday, August 3, 2002, at 05:46 PM, Mark Benson wrote: > > Are any of your drives Compaq branded or originate from Compaq > equipment?
