I agree with you on Maxtor. They really seem to have gotten on the ball,
but I still am waiting until the crop made in the last year have had
some time to run, then I may bay, you are defiantly hard pressed to find
a drive as low in price as a Maxtor.

I had purchased one of those WD DOA drives, they sent me out a new one
and I had it in less than 2 weeks (It would have been faster if I had
let them put a deposit on my credit card though) The replacement has
been running for 2 years non stop 24/7. Even when I was running OS9 I
didn't shut down my machine. It's a 7200rpm drive running inside of a
machine that maintains a temperature of 127 degrees. (I'm trying to find
a better fan, the 5 right now aren't doing it)

Will, I will look around and see which HDs are hanging around doing
nothing.

BTW if anyone needs a spare IIci, I have about 3 of them complete (no
display) with ram &HD and various parts as well. If anyone is looking
for a part etc, just ask, I would like some free space.

PS want to sell a couple of those old Quantum drives? I have a Mac
Classic 2 that needs a hard drive
