You would definitely see an improvement, but it would be hard to quantitate. The higher the resolution you work with and the more windows you keep open, the more a faster larger video card will help. First, have you used the hack that enables some 2D acceleration on those Rage Pro cards? It may make enough of a difference that you may not feel a need to upgrade. The hack is generally used with 1998-9 PowerBooks, but supposedly works with retail Rage Pro-based cards also. I don't know a source, but if someone else doesn't chime in, then Google is your friend. -- _______________________ Phil Lefebvre Chicago, IL -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lemlists.com> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
