The correct spelling is "Windows". I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were illiterate. Perhaps I should refer to MacOS as "MacOooze" and Apple as "CrApple" so you will understand.
Jeez guy, chill!
I know he said let the flaming begin, but that's just juvenile.
Trust me, Windoze is the *most* polite I generally get about *that* OS.
His point about the System folder is *entirely* valid, by the way. There is a lot of stuff in there that isn't necessarily needed.
OTOH, it does make for a simple, monolithic install, that's exactly what an 'easy install' is supposed to do.
What I'd settle for is a custom OS install with more choices of what to have installed or not.
That said, there's also a LOT of stuff in the System folder that doesn't seem important but is, and the underlying system in OSX is vastly more complex than it was under OS9.
To those bemoaning the complexity of the System folder I say:
Patience Grasshopper, patience.
Understanding will come in time...OSX is a new thing, and distilling it down to the simplicity that was OS9, while retaining the power and versatility that is OSX is a gargantuan task and is going to take time!
OS 9 did *NOT* spring forth, full-grown like Athena, from Apple. Do not expect OSX to do so...
