Apple "officially" lists a Power Mac G3 as "supporting" Panther, but rightUGG!, I'm beginning to think the requirement of "built in USB" is an urban legend.
at the end of the list of requirements is built-in USB. Last time I
checked, there wasn't such a thing on >any< G3. I am also getting differing opinions on the useability of OS X running on a500 mhz G3. Some say it is just fine, some say it is unuseable.
It has nothing to do with USB, Panther is only supported on Macs with a New World ROM, all NWROM Mac have built-in USB, therefore they state in the Read-Me that to use Panther you need a Mac with built-in USB.
