Panther is all about subtle improvements. I liken it a lot to the difference between 8.1 and 8.5. Switching back and forth between 10.2 and 10.3 all the (my soon to be no more Beige at home has been resistant to 10.3) I find I'm constantly missing little things in 10.2, and an increasing number of programs work only with 10.3; there were considerable changes under the hood.
