I have been very busy for the last weeks finishing a CG contract and starting a new one.
Did not have time for the tutorials on my website.
In my spare time (in the can) I found some interesting thing about PS3 Linux.

Sorry about you in Europe, but I am lucky enough to have a PS3 60gig at home. Seeing blu ray movies is really impressive and scary when you think about having to eventually render at 1920*1080

I am a Sony hater, but I am also a Microsoft hater, and Nintendo scared me with their "NO HD" policy.
PS3 with a blu ray included is cheaper than a XBOX with an HD-DVD drive.

I am planning in the next month to buy and install Linux on my PS3.
It is really easy since the PS3 has already options in the main menu to format and partition the HardDisk (PS3 has a regular PC HD that you can change easily formatted in Linux).
And there is also an option to boot from an operating system.

If you are a programmer, take a look at this, it really is an orgasm to see such a beautiful processor

This is an article about raytracing on a Cell Processor
We are getting closer to realtime raytracing.

I hope that one day we will see a Realsoft optimized for a Cell processor.
Or maybe just the ability to do network rendering using a PS3 as a rendering slave

My PC is so dated and I don't want to buy anything before : Vista, QuadCore, HDCP Videocard, HDMI monitor and software supporting QuadCore etc.

Just for coding right of the box for the Cell is so fun

It's sad because I have : GT HD, Resistance and Ridge Racer 7 and ... no time to play these games.
