Nice simulation Mark!
But did you try to run a simulation with the cloth dropped before?
I mean you run the sim when the cloth is falling, once it is sitting on 
the
poles you hit "set initial state".

Didn't try it but you're right: it would be better (and no problem for DA!) 
to drape the cloth first, fix it and then run the sim. Plenty of room for 
improvements...
