Voxel are great for modeling natural shapes and fail at everything else. It is very dificult to modify without having to restart all over again. Maybe a form of linked intelligent polygon ( self aware polygon ) or a form of optimized point cloud is the future. I agree that the final result would be better exported as voxel. Polygon and subdivision can be converter as voxel. After fiddling a bit I could produce crazy complex stalagmites in minutes that would have been impossible or at least very time consuming with the RS SDS toolkit. SDS is great for modeling many, many things but not everything... so, 3d Coat is #2 on the to-purchase-in-the-near-future list (after V7 of course!) Thanks, Mark H I see more displacement than actual modeling to realize this scene. And the only way to do justice to your magnificent painting is to paint directly on object. That would be a perfect project for a voxel modeler like 3D coat. Will RS support voxel object/rendering soon? Jean-Sebastien Perron www.NeuroWorld.ws |
