Ron et al,
I've done some preliminary poking around and come up with info that
you might want to explore. A site with decent tutorials on all things
XML is http://www.w3schools.com. Another which is a great resource for
software, tools, utilities and more is http://www.xmlsoftware.com.
The first step will be to define the XML schema for all the Midgard
material that we want to render. Then we'll proceed with the actual
markup and finish with the rendering.
The following are sites that provide info on various aspects of what
we intend to accomplish:
http://www.w3.org/XML
http://www.w3.org/XML/2000/04schema-hacking
http://www.w3.org/XML/Schema
http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath
http://www.w3.org/TR/xsl
http://www.w3.org/Style/XSL
http://xml.apache.org
http://xml.apache.org/dist
http://www.oasis-open.org/cover
http://www.xml.org
http://www.xml.com
The following site has a tutorial on XSL Formating Objects:
http://renderx.com
and one thing I found fascinating about the site is that with a single
click one can convert the entire public content of the site into a
PDF document.
Hope this provides a little to chew on.
Marius
