Well, we do see this from different perspecitves. The apporach of a
group of techinques has it's merits and one sees it often ffrom tool
vendors.
My biggest objection to the approach is that it narrows the audiance,
IMO. I really think a lot of weight should be put onto the marketing
value that a demo brings. The other issue I have with this type of demo
is that of context - sometimes it is not enough to show how to fill a
list box, a demo that emulates a real world system also helps show why
and when, I think.
Think it the other way round:
Doing both, making self contained application examples from real life
and internally using a list of things to show (access user: how does
this work in OO.o-base?) could be o good thing.
Actually I was looking at your ealier posts and realized the same. What
I am doing now is putting together a list of what 'tasks' we might be
trying to show the user at each level. I will put this up later this
evening..
