I sent a message about this a few days ago, but it looks like I sent it from the wrong address so the list dropped it. Argh.

It looks like they have custom DNS software running on ns0.thny.bbc.co.uk and ns0.thdo.bbc.co.uk which are the authoritative servers for bbc.net.uk. A `dig` is revealing: ; <<>> DiG 9.2.0 <<>> @ns0.thny.bbc.co.uk bbc.net.uk any ;; global options: printcmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 37625 ;; flags: qr aa rd; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 2, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;bbc.net.uk. I'm guessing BBC wrote it, because otherwise we'd be seeing this problem on other sites that use Sun clusters, and AFAIK, BBC is the only one. I wrote to the address in the SOA ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) last week, but I haven't received an answer. I don't expect to. I beg implementors, please don't add a workaround for this! As soon as resolvers begin to work around it, the problem becomes permanent. Unfortunately, if a workaround gets added to Microsoft's resolver, we'll all have to follow suit. :-( -Nathan -- +-------------------+---------------------+------------------------+ | Nathan Lutchansky | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Lithium Technologies | +------------------------------------------------------------------+ | I dread success.
