It this point I have to rethink RSEL vs F20 for my mail server.

I really don't see RSEL as a long time solution, rather as a step toward
Centos-arm7. Given that, F20-arm SHOULD be complete(er) with more
people to maintain it (with no criticism of all that has been done to
bring us RSEL).

You're going to be disappointed, because CentOS also only brings with it the packages that are in the core upstream EL distro. Therefore everything you are finding isn't in RSEL you'll find to also not be there in CentOS.

I have built a complete Centos6-x86 server that was ready to launch,
but I am not becuase of the desire to use an arm server. I used:

http://campworld.net/thewiki/pmwiki.php/LinuxServersCentOS/Cent6VirtMailServer

This refers to packages that exist in neither the base
repositories on CentOS 6.x, nor EPEL.

Why this tutorial? worst I ever seen. Installing The Software ...
you missed the additional repos for this packages and most of them
are not found.

So I maintain that if you followed this tutorial you also used
other repositories, which most likely aren't available for
armv5tel architecture.

Oh, I have an extensive private exchange with the author on improvements/corrections he could make to his tutorial.

http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd

This refers to using the RPMForge repository - which isn't
available for armv5tel.

Yes, that is so. I used it as a guide as there are errors in it. Which I sent to the author and were not incorporated.

But I got amavisd-new-2.8.0-8.el6.noarch from epel (I just checked my notes and system), which is no longer available in epel6. I went through quite a bit at the time doing bug reports on the integration of clamav and amavisd that were fixed. So I will have to look in the epel list history to see when and why it was pulled then see what if anything people are doing to replace it.

Error on my part. epel6 is up to: amavis-new-2.9.1-2

And on the Centos list there is discussion on it with Centos7, thus I am guessing it is in epel7.

It IS in epel6-arm, but not all of its dependencies. So it won't install.

You can approach other repository maintainers and ask
them to support armv5tel. Or volunteer to maintain a port
of their repository for armv5tel. Or find/hire somebody to
do so.

I will have to see what is being used in place of amavisd in C6 these days...

F20-arm life should be long enough for Centos-arm7 to be out and stable.

You might want to check whether F20 includes everything you actually need. Last I checked the EPEL repository for RSEL is pretty complete, which means you may need depdendncies that are outside Fedora as well, and you'll be back up against the same problem.

I have a F20 test system (for Miredo demos). All I need to do is try
the spamassassin and amavisd installs. If they go I try harder. If
not I make reasonable inquiries.

Look at the 'math'. RSEL is fantastic, but a real small community.
Efforts are in place for Centos to be more inclusive.

What do you mean by inclusive? CentOS included a few things in the
extras repository, but that was mostly kernels with extra features
enabled. If you are looking for packages that aren't in the upsream
EL distro you are entirely dependant on the maintainers of other
repositories to provide ports for other platforms. I don't see
CentOS including packages that aren't in the upstream distribution.

At some point
Centos7-arm will happen; I can make sure it does what I need.

If you think they are going to include extra packages in the
distro that aren't in upstream you may find that a rather
uphill struggle. Karanbir will likely tell you to go ask
the maintainers of the repositories that provide the packages
you are looking for, same as I did.

F20
COULD be the bridge until then. Or RSEL if we can at least fix
spamassasin and amavisd.

It doesn't change the fact that your problem isn't with the
distribution but the platform. The documents you linked are
clearly dependant on other additional repositories to work,
and those repositories don't appear to be available on ARM.
