Just to add to this, I have A4 size envelopes, If I want to print an
address on the actual envelope, I do the following
1. set the page orientation to landscape
2. type the address in the centre of the document using centre align tool
3. use page preview to check it's in the middle of the envelope
4. put the envelope in the sheet feeder
5. print the document
I then have the address printed in the middle center of the envelope,
and it looks much better than writing by hand.
I must be missing something here! Granted that OO.o is not the world's
best program when it comes to handling envelopes, what's the problem
with printing a suitable label as and when necessary? I find that the
transparent Avery J8560 gives acceptable results on most envelopes,
particularly when the envelope orientation bug periodically surfaces in
a release of OO.o.
