LOL. But thanks for the syntax. I didn't have the "s" on "swriter."

I never use any program maximized. And especially not OOo. You see, my
screen is 1680 x1080, so maximized would leave huge wasted space on the
sides. I'd rather leave other running programs sticking out from
underneath - makes it easier to switch to another program. Plus,
sometimes you almost have to - like when you are dragging files around
in your file manager.

I never used 2.4.1 maximized either, yet it always remembered the
window size and location. 

Wait ... I just had a thought. Since I did not want my 2.4.1 removed I
could not use the deb for desktop integration
(ooobasis3.0-gnome-integration_3.0.0-9_amd64.deb). Just a wild hunch,
but I bet that's where the problem lies. I wonder if there's any
documentation on what that deb file does.
