One more problem. When I minimize the Writer window it does not
minimize the toolbars. Note that I have my toolbars off on the side
detached because I want the program window to have as much space for
the document as possible.

It seems to me that this was a problem with OOo a long time ago on
Ubuntu - a couple years ago at least.
