I beg to differ.  In Thunderbird 2.0.0.18 Tools -> Account settings
then you select the account in which you are interested and listed between "Disk Space" and "Return Receipts" is "Junk Settings."

Read all of what I said. I replied to a post that said there was a setting "mark as junk mail from anyone not in your address book". I pointed out that there was not such a setting.

Mr. Gusaas is right; the setting is "Do not mark mail as junk if the sender is in ...". The converse of that is *not* "mark as junk if the sender is not in ...", which is what I erroneously calculated.
