If, using OOo 3.0.0 (OOO300m9, build 9358) I enter «8.5» (without quotation marks) in cell A1in a Calc spreadsheet and then click in a different cell, the A1 entry automatically changes to «09-08-05» (without quotation marks) ; i e, the same sort of phenomenon mentioned by Dotan above.... Henri
