Okay, I see that. In fact, some notes have already been added. (As you can imagine I am really a beginner with impress :) I do have lots of experience is with LaTeX, Beamer, LyX, HTML, and other formats for generating overhead presentations and print handouts.) > Method 2: Try typing notes in the space below the slide. I need to figure out the multiple monitor setup as maybe that is related. Any other configurations related to this "notes" in openoffice? Since I don't have the overhead video projection here, I will test by plugging in an external monitor. I am using X.org's intel driver. I am using openoffice2-2.4.2nb4 from pkgsrc. (OpenOffice.org 3 didn't work with the impress documented created and maintained in OpenOffice.org 2 by someone else. I will try to make a simple test case and report that separately.) I also want to print the "notes" for the instructor's own materials. I tried using both export PDF and file->Print and chose the notes, but didn't see them. I now see the Handout tab and the format is two slides (one above the other) per printed sheet. Maybe for notes printout, I'd like to have one slide per page shown at top half of paper and then the notes (if any) printed on bottom half of same page. Any suggestions on this? I found some docs. I am currently looking at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Impress_Guide/Controlling_printing and http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Impress_Guide/Adding_and_formatting_notes (which maybe has a typo as says to see chapter 9 for more printing details but I think it should be chapter 10) and nearby pages. I also received some other emails offlist. Thank you all who shared some ideas. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
