Trying to open a Base file (that was apparently corrupted in saving), OO
opens instead a "Filter Selection" pane, which implictly invites one to pick
a filter that handles that file type. This causes two problems:
(1) One must find and choose the appropriate file filter from a "Filter
Selection" list that includes 160+ *unsorted* filters!
(2) Because the "Filter Selection" list is unsorted, it takes some time to
discover that there is *no* filter for Base files.
To those two problems, there are corresponding questions:
(1) In searching the archive on this question, I find lots of complaints
about this unsorted list, but apparently no action yet on those complaints.
Can someone help me find where that list is maintained, to see what might
be involved in making it an ordered list?
(2) How does one go about getting/making a filter for a Base file?
