     I am guessing that the icon is a link to the installation folder. I 
would suggest you double click the icon and find the file 
setup_guide.pdf. Read this guide. It contains all the instructions you 
need to install the program. Pay especial attention to what is on page 
27 about file associations.
     The program you need to install OpenOffice.org is also in that same 
folder: setup.exe. But remember: read the guide first. It will well 
worthwhile. (Since you are using windows, you can safely skip the 
sections of the setup guide that refer to other operating systems.
