I hate to say it, but man are you ever right.

I have diligently worked with my next door neighbor, setting up t-bird to get
mail from their mailbox at both the vz and gmail servers. It all Just
Works(TM) when I'm done. The next email I get from her comes from the yahoo
servers cuz 'its so much more convenient' to use their web based mail.

Hello Pooh? (Yeah, that's what I call her for a pet name half the time cuz she
claims she is a bear of very little brain, and yet she worked for me for a
couple of years as a tv transmitter operator) Ya gotta launch a damned
browser, find the mailbox in the bookmarks, login, put up with all the fscking
adds they wrap the page up in, sometimes covering up what you went there to
see, then wade through more damned pop-ups before you can actually read a
given message, wade through more pop-ups to reply to it, it encourages top
posting cuz most don't even know you can actually down arrow to the proper
place to put your reply, hit send & clear 4 more pop-ups to get back to the
main screen.

Cut me a break, I'm lazy, kmail run 24/7 here, on its own window, one of 8 I
setup & all I have to do is tap the + key to get to the next, or reply & type
if I wanna, then click send. And I don't have any pop-ups.

They are (miss) trained by rote, and once trained, I think you would have to
electrify the wrong keys to eventually break the (bad) habits. Sigh...
