What ever happened to the good old newsreader? I use KNode and keep my news
groups distinct from my email (I could use TBird for both but I prefer this
method). It is quite unobtrusive and I can quickly scan the messages and
focus on what I want. I don't really see what the problem is to subscribing
to a newsgroup.
