I am not an expert but I can assure you there is a word processor in the OOo package. It is called Writer. After downloading and then running the installer to install OOo, click on Start; Programs. In that list you should see and Open Office +version entry and in that, you should see the 7 basic components of Open Office such as Base, Calc, Draw, Impress, Writer and so on. Clicking on Writer should start the word processor. I do not know why you would get any messages as you indicate. Please list your Operating Sysem, its version and Service Pack level, plus the verstion of Open Office you are trying to get installed. Where did you download the installer files from? Was it from openorffice.org or some other URL? I do not understand what you mean by running "setup". There is no "setup.exe" you have to run if you downloaded it from Openoffice.org. The file you downloaded should be named OOo_3.1.0_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe or something similar if you chose a different, older version. That is the file you run to install Open Office. As for Uninstalling, you should be able to do that from Control Panel's Add or Remove icon as you would with any other program. IS the above how you installed and then tried to remove OpenOfice on your computer? If it is, I don't know what's wrong, but it should have worked. If it is not, then there may be some other sort of problem. Either way, by answering the questions here, someone should be able to assist you and begin to straighten out your problem or problems. Please quote any error messages you might see, and explain what you did to cause the error message to appear. They can be very important.
