As with any email never open one from someone you do not know, and be very careful opening attachments from those that you do know. If you expecting an attachment then you can have the sender "save as" to a format that you can open or go to http://www.openoffice.org/ and download a copy and install OpenOffice.org. No need to register if you do not want to.
