I'm running two different versions of OOo on two different OS's: a) OOo 2.4.1 on Win XP Pro b) OOo 3.1.1 on Vista Home Premium
The freeware program VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc) is installed and runs properly on both systems. Among other things it is used to display MP4 files. It correctly displays the same MP4 file on both systems (the file is on a shared drive).
On System (a) I can insert the MP4 file into an Impress slide and OOo will display it properly, presumably using VLC. On system (b) I cannot insert *that same* MP4 file into an Impress presentation. When I try I get "The format of the selected file is not supported".
