Sorry but this doesn't seem to apply. Without using OOo, I can play the file on both XP Pro and Vista. But on XP Pro OOo can import and play the file but on Vista it can't even import it, let alone play it. However, NoOp's researches *seem* to indicate that there's a problem with OOo. When it come to computers, please don't ever use the word "should". Windows *should* never blue-screen. Any argument based on what a piece of software *should* do is always suspect and almost always wrong. As far as I know Quicktime does not provide such filters. > On linux it depends if you use the original OOo build which uses > the java media framework or the gstreamer backend which can play > anything that VLC can play as they use the same backend. > > Regards, > Christian > > > NoOp wrote: > >> On 11/24/2009 05:08 PM, NoOp wrote: >> .. >> >>> Got it; you can change the password now :-) >>> >>> I test in Win2KPro first w/3.1.1 as that's what I currently have mounted >>> on my virtual machine & then test in WinXPPro. >>> >> >> OK quick test on Win2KP w/3.1.1 and I get the same "The format of the >> selected file is not supported" msg.
