I hope I can make this question intelligible...
I have a Sales Template writer document that has a special footer that
has a Signature line and some legalese beneath the signature line.
What I need to do is have this special footer always be on the last
page, but when the document reaches two pages, I'd like the footer on
page 1 to switch to a different/simple footer (it will just have a date,
and 'Page # of #' on it).
I just can't figure out how to do it...
Anyone?
It sounds as if you want the natural flow to do the page style
selection, but I don't really think this can work from the back to the
front (as opposed to the First Page/Default setup, where the natural
flow off of the first page will set up the Default style for the
remaining pages). You can set up your Sales Template with two pages,
using Default for the first page and the simpler footer, then a manual
page break selecting a new page style (say, Final Page) and the more
complex footer. You can delete the second page now, and save the
template; the page style will retain the footer information.
When using the template, enter all your material. If it fits on one
page, apply the Final Page style and you're done. Otherwise, at the
end of the next-to-last page, insert a manual page break, using the
Insert menu and selecting the Final Page style. If you then have to
edit the material, you may need to adjust the placement of the page
break.
It sounds to me like what you want is an ENDNOTE.
