I have sent Dave in Tasmania my OpenOffice config files which he is
having a look at. I previously sent him one of the documents that is
italicising any bold type, but italics and bolding behaved as they
should on his computers, under Windows and Linux, so now hie is looking
at the config files. I think he is going to run OOo using my config
files, and see if he can duplicate the problem.
Let's see what he finds out there before I bother you with further
examples of the problem.

I renamed 'user' to read 'user.old' and then had to go through the
'Welcome' process to set up a new user profile next time I ran OOo, but when
I typed a test document in Writer the Bold-Italics problem is still there.

James, sorry but at this point I give up. Can you put a small document on
the web somewhere that exhibits the symptoms you describe (obviously
something non-confidential) and then tell us where it is so we can look at
it?
