Can you please supply some additional information such as:

    * which system are using (Windows 98, XP, Linux, Mac, ...)?
    * which version of OpenOffice did you download?
    * what exactly is the text of the error message when the "desktop"
      says "it can't"?

This is not to bug you, but if you want to solve a problem, you first
have find out what the problem is.
