I'm somewhat puzzled by the question.
I always though Great Britain and United Kingdom mean actually the
very same. Thus the question did surprise me a lot.
They are not exactly the same thing:

- Great Britain (as a geographical term) = the largest island
- Great Britain (as a political entity) = England + Wales + Scotland
- The United Kingdom (a sovereign state) = England + Wales + Scotland +
Northern Ireland
