Yes, all it takes is for a user to request guidance about something they don't yet understand. So you have taken the first step ;) > or should I remove OpenOffice and use a package from a different > company that supports the English language. A little clarification for you, OOo (OpenOffice.org) is not a company and as as a volunteer support group we are not phased by people threatening to increase any commercial company's revenue. What you elect to install on your computer is your choice. > At the moment your packages does not support English it only supports > an american version of the English language. Your presumption is incorrect. OOo supports several flavours of English, including UK. Take a look at the "Setting Up Writer Guide" Chapter 2 - Page 18 http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/0202WG-SettingUpWriter.pdf (766.24Kb download). If you are still unable to configure OOo for UK English, please post back to [email protected] giving details of your operating system & version, OOo version used and what steps you have taken. Most of us are happy to offer assistance in response to a polite request. > Any help will be greatly appreciated but if no one is able to help then > I can see no future for OpenOffice. Thousands of users (individuals and business) would disagree with you about this. One of OOo's (OpenOffice.org) strengths (and there are many) is it's language capabilities. Hope this helps.
